Built in best practice sharing

As a contractor, we continue to work with other companies and see the struggles that arise, and what solutions work and don't work.  We continue to network with other Lean practitioners and share industry best practices.  Many of the problems in business are shared by many companies, and many different approaches are effective in dealing with these problems.  It can be useful to know what other companies have done to deal with the same problem and understand the pros and cons other companies have experienced with those decisions.  That information can save valuable time and energy when deciding how best to mitigate your own problems.

No benefits to pay out

As a contractor, there are no benefits to pay out.  No health insurance to contend with or paid vacations, 401K and all the other expenses that go along with a full time employee.  No internal resources need to be provided such as software licenses, computer hardware, office furniture, human resource support, IT support etc.

Detailed specific knowledge of your business

One of the main problems with many companies is they can become stale in their view of the business, particularly if they have the advantage of low turn-over of its personnel.  An outsider perspective can be invaluable, particularly when they have knowlege of your industry and your specific business, but also a wider perspective of other companies both in and outside of your industry.

Flexible scheduling

Our scheduling is flexible.  There are times when your personnel is stretched thin, perhaps you have a busy trade show season, or perhaps you need to put extra immediate attention to a production or quality issue, or perhaps your business is seasonal. We can suspend activities and also ramp up to tackle additional important projects as required without the need to fire and hire and contend with the unemployment that goes along with that.

Reduced hourly cost

Many Lean / Continuous Improvement consultants charge $2000 - $4000 per day.  By using a contract consultant, our costs are reduced and so should yours.  Our contracts are not intended to lock you in for extended periods of time and are cancellable with 30 day notice.  They provide an understanding of the work that is planned and a rough time frame when that work will be completed.

Robust knowledge resource

We are not experts in all things Lean.  However, we work with a multitude of professionals with specific knowledge and experience in a wide array of topics.  If we do not have the experience you require, we can make arrangements within our network to supplement the service offering to you.  We can also handle the billing for these services internally so you do not have to setup additional vendors.  Let us know your needs, we likely have a knowledgeable resource we can refer for you.
